Every year we head out to Pennsylvania for our family reunion at Tom Henry Chevrolet and the concurrent PACE Camaro show at the dealership. It's all about catching up with the dearest of friends. This year was as fun as always and we are grateful we brought Red to the show at it ended up being his last. Link to photo album is below!

This was the 25th year showing for the Camaro Superfest in Ypsilanti, Michigan so they paid homage to the 25th Anniversary Camaro with a special class. Marco took home a first place trophy in this class which was very nice!! Our home away from home club, North Eastern Ohio Camaro Club (NEOCC) named the club participation trophy with 31 cars attention. This was a record turn out with 711 cars registered and just over 600 on the show field, fantastic year!! The 6th gen assembly plant tour was a load of fun too. Looking forward to next year as always!! Click Here to See the Photo Album From Superfest
Click Here to See the Photo Album from Camaro NationalsEvery year we look forward to the party where a car show breaks out! Many changes mean that this could be the last year of this event but we certainly hope it finds a way to go on. Extra special this time as it was the first travel car show Riley has been able to attend with us. He spent some time with Andy learning some tricks of detailing and how to wax a car. He worked very hard to get Red ready for judging and earned not only a Class Winner award but also helped Red to be chosen for an Oscar from the High Octane Club. We had one very excited 10 year old! I think that Riley's favorite part was the party that broke out each night after the sun went down. He loved spending time with everyone, helping out with the costume contest and dancing at the HO tent. Thank you to everyone who made this show possible, we had a blast as always!! Click Here to See Photo Gallery from G20We always love an auto show where a Camaro is unveiled!! This year it was the brand new 6th gen 1LE for 2017, just beautiful up close and personal. We also finally had a chance to get our butts in the seat of a 6th gen convertible. I think that may be the way to go!! Very excited by the way Chevrolet is going and loving the offerings from Cadillac as well. All in all a great day out with my sweetheart. Thank you to Illinois Camaro Club for the Social Media Day passes, much less crowded day to visit! GM was spread out around the show in various places but worth finding all the displays to see them all. So great to see Camaro taking the lead as Motor Trend Car of the Year. Looking forward to seeing what else comes for 2017! Click Here to See Photo Album from Chicago Auto Show 2016This was our third trip to see the Gilmore. We love to go there and wander the beautiful grounds. They are expanding at an amazing pace and every year there have been new buildings. This year the new one to us was the Cadillac building, designed to resemble a Cadillac dealership from the late 40's. There was also a Cadillac show going on just adjacent to the building which was very cool to see! Detroit 5th Gen Camaro Club holds this event every year and invites as many Camaros as they can, I counted 24 that came out and parked on the grounds within the museum. They were kind enough to give us free reign to move the cars around and get some fabulous pictures. The album contains some great shots of Helios posing and some pictures of our favorite exhibits. The entrance to the museum itself is now dedicated to muscle cars of the 60's/70's which is where my heart lies, we were very excited to see that as the main display walking in the door. Highly recommend a visit to this wonderful museum that traces the entire history of the automobile. I know we'll continue to go back again and again! Click Here to Visit the Photo Album for Our Gilmore VisitWe have not been able to attend the Fall Classic since 2009 so we were so happy to be back this year!! North Eastern Ohio Camaro Club is our home away from home, they always take us in as one of their own at all the travel shows we attend. We had a great time and I sure hope it's not so long before we are back again. The show Saturday was very rainy and a bit chilly but it couldn't dampen the fun. Thank goodness Tom Henry set up a tent and tarp we could huddle under LOL. We then cruised in the pouring rain to MAP airplane museum for the dinner/live auction. The club put together a lovely tribute to Scott Settlemire who recently announced his retirement from GM. In particular the slide show of photos sent in by all of Scott's friends put together by club prez Morgan was a true labor of love. The dinner was excellent, the auction short but sweet. Of course Sunday it finally cleared up as we had to leave for home. We had such a good time, especially getting to do a little more checking out of the 6th gen. Thanks so much NEOCC, Morgan & Cindy for your hospitality and a great event! Click Here for Photo Album of Fall ClassicFinally we were able to do a local Camaro show! In previous years the Illinois Camaro Club show fell on the same weekend as Tom Henry so we could never attend, was great it was moved to another weekend this year! As usual the show was held at the Volo Auto Museum so attendees could peruse the museum at their leisure. We brought 2 cars this year, the 25th Anniversary and 35th Anniversary. Marco came home with a 3rd place nod in his class and Blue won Best of Show in his class, we never expect hardware in participant choice shows so very surprising and especially sweet. This was Riley's first time attending a real show with us with "his" car and he was so excited to win something, it made the show very special for him!! I know he will never forget it and I think that it's another bite of the car bug for him! Despite being a VERY hot day we all had a wonderful time together at a great show! Click Here For Photo Album of ICC Camaro ShowThe Tom Henry/PACE car show is one we try never to miss. We love to spend time hanging out at Tom Henry Chevrolet, seeing the best of friends and the beauty of Pennsylvania. This was Marco's first car show only a week after coming home and very little time to prep him. We were able to drive him a little bit on the lovely hilly, winding country roads. We found a classic rock radio station, pulled the T-Tops off and traveled back in time. Just wonderful. The show stayed dry, though very hot. Fantastic turnout of amazing cars. Shockingly Marco pulled off Best Camaro in Show, something we never would have expected!! He has solidly wedged himself in our hearts so we were grateful to see he stole some other hearts as well. An honor like that only a week after bringing him home made everything so special, we'll never forget it!! It's always so hard to come home and leave the friends we cherish so much behind, so I'll just keep looking forward to the next one when we all see each other again! Click Here to See Photo Album Tom Henry/PACE ShowThis was an insanely eventful show this year. We always make sure to attend Superfest every year. This year we visited SLP and Henry Ford Museum on Friday. Seems strange to visit a Ford Museum on a Camaro trip but what an amazing history of Americana, we loved it and are looking forward to going back soon!! Saturday Jacey got to see the new 2016 Camaro SS on display during the show which had great weather and a fantastic turnout of cars. After the show we trekked to Lingenfelter which has just an awesome display of all kinds of American and Exotic cars. This was a memorable and exciting trip and it was great to see all of our friends. Hope next year has just as much excitement in store! Click Here to See Photo Album From Superfest |
