Prime should have always had the red seatbelts but GM did not allow them on blue cars so we corrected that ourselves!! Very complicated project and always scary to totally disassemble almost the entire interior of your brand new car but so worth it!!

Today we met our newest family member!  It was just over 2 years ago when we were attending the unveiling of the 6th generation Camaro that I told Tom Henry we wanted to be number 1 on his list for whatever kind of 2017 we could get.  We weren't sure if there was going to be a ZL1 or if it would be a 50th anniversary edition but we knew we wanted one and we wanted another number 1 to go with our 2012.  Then the ZL1 was announced for 2017 and we knew that's what we wanted, even better it was coming in a convertible!!  So we pestered Tom endlessly and Prime rolled off the line in March.  Andy and Tom worked very hard together to design his "look" and we couldn't be happier!

I try to make the majority of my posts upbeat, happy, positive....this one I can't really spin that way.  On October 8th of this year while on the way to a show at Gilmore Car Museum Red was in a terrible accident.  Unfortunately he has been declared a total loss and we have had to accept that he will not be seeing the road again.  Red was out and about at many shows this year and for that we are grateful.  He kept his passengers safe and none of us had injuries beyond aches and pains.  We are so terribly sad to lose such a precious member of our family.  Andy purchased Red brand new and did all of the work to him so he meant quite a lot to us.  We have purchased him back from the insurance company so now he sits broken in our garage.  Now for some positive spin, we have purchased a 2001 SS convertible in red that is virtually a twin with just over 16,000 miles.  We are waiting for him to be delivered from Florida as I write this.  Our plan is to rebuild Red on this twin car, Red 2.0 if you will.  Every part we can salvage will be saved and hopefully Red will live on, this time with all of our love being fed into the build.  It is hard but we have hope and look forward to unveiling Red 2.0 soon!!

We are super excited to have finally brought home our elusive Heritage Edition.  We were looking forever for it!  We finally found it in Cedar Rapids, Iowa at a dealership.  A friend came across it and kept it safe until we could get there and bring it home.  Polo Green with Gold stripes was a color option only available in a Heritage Edition as an RS.  Based on our research it seems only 498 Polo Green Heritage Editions were made.  Purchased with just under 17,000 miles, it's a one owner car sitting with almost all of it's original parts including tires and exhaust!!  We spent all day Sunday cleaning and polishing, we have a few minor fixes/tweaks to make and he'll be all set.  We plan to preserve and show him as a true survivor car.  Very exciting edition to our clan!!
