2001 SS Rebuild ~ Red 2.0
Our beloved 2000 Camaro "Red" was unfortunately totaled in October of 2016. We went on the hunt and his 2001 twin replacement was delivered in December 2016 with roughly 16,000 miles on the clock. Perfect candidate to become the new Red. We will detail all we do to build out Red 2.0 here!

Red's wheels start making a huge difference!
Andrew had originally smoothed all the lettering off of the side marker lenses. They survived the crash and were moved over to Red 2.0 along with LED replacements for the side marker lights.
Front door speakers replaced with CDTs
Triangle trim piece swapped over from Red to maintain original decal.
Rearview mirror replaced with integrated map light and outdoor temperature display mirror.
Wired in iPod adapter fully functional.
Swapped rear lights for LED.
Rear panel all painted.
Red's taillights were the Japanese export variety, we lovingly refer to them as candy corns. One survived the crash without damage and the other needed to be replaced. Thankful for eBay to hunt a new old stock part down. Originally both had been wet sanded smooth of the raised lettering, so that will still need to be done for the replacement. Lights needed just a wee bit of Dremel modification to get the bulbs to fit just right.
Getting the stickum back on the letters!!
Seats were dismantled after sustaining broken mechanics and twisted back frames in the crash. Sourced replacement frames and replaced all hardware. Then put seat covers back on.
A yard full of seats, what must the neighbors think LOL
