Finally had some time to install the new Roto-Fab air box.  Pretty quick and easy!  What was the biggest surprise was the sheer level of growl it gave us.  When we did the ZL1 we did the headers at the same time so we were never able to hear the difference just the air box made.  Super impressed and happy to have some good sound when we put that pedal down!!

Helios upgrades have begun.  We have a large list to accomplish!!  We started off by adding Aqua Blue Ambient LED lighting, RX Catch Can, 1967 GM door jamb logos, Jet Stream Blue Bow Ties, and vinyl gill fill in decals.  We have a long list more to go but it's a nice start!

Coming soon is the Aqua Blue Footwell LED lighting, Baer Rotors, Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads and painted blue calipers.

So excited to keep working on Helios, he is a very cool car and we are really enjoying driving and modifying him!

We are immensely excited to welcome home the newest Camaro addition to the family.  2014 SS/RS Convertible "Helios" joined us on 3/29/2014.  We made it an adventure and took the train from Chicago to Dearborn, MI to trek to Rodgers Chevrolet.  After a bad dealer experience when we bought the Acadia we needed to feel good about this one.  So we reached our to our friend Becky at Rodgers and she went above and beyond to make it a great time for us.  We got exactly what we wanted and felt good about it at the same time!!  First drive was to Scott to visit.  Enjoyed a wonderful evening with our dear friends and that made the experience so much sweeter.  We are fortunate we were able to add this amazing vehicle to our fleet and we are also very blessed with a wonderful group of friends from our Camaro family.  We are grateful.  Looking ahead we are excited to both drive and modify this car to really reflect ourselves!!

Trailer Floor Raising!

New trailer has the extra wide awning door which gave us ideas!!

There was always a struggle getting the cars in and out of the trailer.  While it was amusing watching Andy climb in and out of the window, it wasn't the greatest for the cars.  The new trailer allowed us the allowance in weight to raise the decks so to speak!

So Andy built up ramps to allow the car door to swing open making pulling the cars in and out SO much easier.

Granted, once the winch is installed into this trailer and ready to go it won't be as much of an isssue.  Still it's always nice to be able to open the car door!

Cannot wait to try out the new setup with the ZL1 for our Georgia trip!

ZL1 Brake Upgrade

Very worthwhile weekend spent upgrading the brakes on the ZL1.  First off the 1LE convinced us he needed to have red calipers so those had to be painted.  Originally they were labeled with ZL1 and Brembo, we are replacing that with Chevrolet and Brembo labeling shortly.  Next the rotors had to be improved.  So we picked up some slotted rotors from Racing Brake.  Finally the stock pads produced WAY too much dirt and made cleaning the wheels a nightmare so those were replaced with Hawk ceramic pads.  Now Z is stylin', love the final look!!!

So after towing the trailer for the first time this year in the new truck it became all the more apparent that we HAD to get the tow mirrors put on ASAP!!  So we spent a few hours last night swapping out the fancy mirrors the truck came with for the trusty, giant tow mirrors that will make towing much better!!  A few more things for the new trailer and we are ready to roll this season!!

Red Repair....

Had to do some minor work to the 2000 SS this weekend.  Pulling in and out of garage moving things around we noticed a slight coolant leak.  So replaced the most likely hose culprit today and seems to have solved the problem. Very excited for our first trip out and about in the convertible this year!!

Trailer Upgrade

With the addition of the Zl1 to the stables the old trailer just wasn't going to cut it anymore for a variety of reasons.  So today we upgraded to a new one with a little more width, a little more height, a bigger side door and most importantly a higher weight capacity!!  Now we are good to haul any car we want without worry.  Looking forward to travel shows this year with the new truck AND trailer together!

Now just to mod the trailer ;-)

Wake Up Day!!

This is literally my favorite day of the year...Camaro wake up day.  It is always so hard to see them tucked in, under cover all winter long.  I start begging for wake up day usually some time in March and Andy caves in April if I'm lucky!  As we lift each cover and unveil each car it almost feels like the first time I've seen them.  The pure white, glistening red, mirrored gray and jewel blue a heavenly sight after the drudge of winter dullness.  Firing each car back to life is a jump of excitement each time.  It just is the most lovely of days....
