We knew when we saw how original Marco was that we wanted to get back into showing with him after taking a few years off. We have added Camaro Nationals in Maryland in as one of our regular annual shows and after bringing Marco home we were invited to enter him in Bow Tie class at next year's show. Bow Tie class is judging based on stock originality of the car and is a point based award rather than competition. While cleanliness is important the big emphasis is on duplicating how the car would have been as it rolled off the showroom floor. They only allow 5 3rd gens to judge each year so we are taking this show very seriously and putting a ton of work into doing the best we can. Obviously the cleaning comes first, that is a work in progress. We've worked hard polishing the paint and have restored it beautifully. Roughly half of the undercarriage has been scrubbed, interior is most of the way there. We have removed rear tail lights and cleaned behind them. All old window tint has been removed. Delivery men have been busy bringing parts that we may need. Very little of the car has been touched so that makes the process a little bit easier but there are a few small things that need to be addressed to bring it back to 100% original. Water pump and hoses & clamps were replaced with non OEM parts, we have sourced these parts to bring all of that back as it should be. I have started a photo album that shows progress of the work we are doing on the car from start to finish, hopefully we finish everything in time for the show!!
