Well, the first travel show of the year is behind us. The FBody Gathering in Atlanta, Georgia is the show I most anticipate. This year was the event's 17th and it never fails to be the best time!! Some car shows are all about the "show" but this event is all about the people!! The common thread of comments from people new to the Gathering is how much it feels like a family.
Plenty of great cars provided by GM for display this year: 2014 Camaro SS/RS, 2013 Hot Wheels Camaro, Bumblebee movie car, 2013 ZL1 Convertible, Tony Stewart Edition ZL1 and the last Trans Am to roll off the line.
This was the first year THR ZL1 was able to be the car we brought with us and as a matter of fact we were informed he was delivered to Tom Henry Chevrolet while we were at G16 the year before! Worked really hard making him shine and he made us proud winning his class.
We cannot stress enough how thankful we are to the event staff who work so hard to deliver this show to us every year. We are beyond grateful to Scott Settlemire for his support of the Camaro Community and for every-freaking-thing-else you do!! Special shout out to our dear friend Pat Lewis who changed his plans and made the trip in order to present the first Karen Lewis Memorial Award, we love you!
I've said it many times before, but it bears repeating. We may start attending shows because of the cars but it's the beloved friends we make along the way that keep us attending as the years pass. So wonderful to see everyone and so excited for the remaining shows of the summer that will bring even more of those we are longing to see!!
It was best said by Karen Lewis: "The shows are like a family reunion, except I LIKE everyone there!"
I can't say it any better than that, so now we look forward to the next............
