We are regular attendees of Camaro Superfest in Ypsilanti, Michigan every year. It usually falls over the 4th of July weekend and what better way to celebrate than with hundreds of other Camaro enthusiasts! Thankfully our trip to and from the show was uneventful!! This year was extra special with all new events. Our Friday started out with a trip to Waterford Hills Road Race course where they allowed 140 Camaros to take to the track in small groups to really get a feel for a road race track. It was oodles of fun and we really enjoyed our time there!! Then we were off again for the second half of our day spent touring the Camaro COPO Facility where the 69 COPO Camaros that GM builds each year are produced. It was amazing to see how each of these cars are so painstakingly put together and we thank GM and the COPO Facility immensely for allowing all of us through their doors AND for feeding us!! Also big thanks to Al Oppenheiser and Tom Peters for taking time out of their holiday to come and talk to us. We were totally worn out by the time Friday was over!!
Then with Saturday came the show itself in Riverside Park. As usual we parked along the river and enjoyed a beautiful view. There was the biggest turn out of Camaros I've seen yet at the park and I'd imagine at least 400 cars showed up. It was a sea of beauty as far as the eye could see!!
Congrats to all of our friends who won awards Sunday, everyone worked so hard while we sat back and relaxed having decided to forego judging this year!! Lazy us!!
As always so very happy to see all of our dear friends, now we look ahead to the next show in Pennsylvania!!
